Research Woman's Day Holiday Fun Magazine

The cover of this magazine has little polar bear ornaments that look homemade. They are all attached and are the only picture on the cover of the magazine. The background color is a dark green and the font of the writing is light green, red and white to make it stand out. It also represents the colors of Christmas time to attract the readers. They give small detail of what is in the magazine, such as "Cozy winter comfort food" and "Cookies ornaments and wreaths."  The Polar Bears are also brightly colored. The white of the bear and the brightly colored vests they are wearing really makes it stand out. The font is also very creative and fun to look at. The table of contents is located on pages 4 and 5. The colors on these pages are also colors related to Christmas and really catch the readers eye. Before the table of contents are a few pages of advertisements for IKEA, Walmart and the car the Jaguar. The table of contents lists some but not all pages. It lists small captions of certain things on certain pages. Then on the next page they list more pages and what can be found on them. Throughout the magazine you can find a combination of advertisements on smaller companies and many large companies. On pages 12 and 13 there is a very large advertisement for the company Lowes and it offers help with picking out your color for your house. This advertisement also has little quotes of other things found in this article. This magazine has not won any awards. The total circulation in the year 2013 was 3,394,754. From July to September the circulation was 320,398.

I chose the magazine Better Homes and Gardens Autumn Glow. The cover of this magazine has brown, gold, and orange colors to represent the season of Fall. The font and size is very large and bold to catch the eye. They show a bowl filled with decorations for the season. It also shows different decorations to lay out around your house or anywhere you feel like it. They also have little captions such as "Spooky fun crafts" to try and get the reader to open the magazine. The table of contents is located on page 3 and includes many pages from the magazine. it has four pictures in the middle of the page with the page numbers listed in the corner to describe what can be found on those pages. The table of contents also separates the pages into categories based on what is found on those pages. They also advertise their online magazines and website.
